Autorlando Sport back on track at Mugello with two Porsche 911 GT4, for the last round of the 2017 season of the Italian GT Championship.
In GTS class, take part Beppe Ghezzi with Alessandro Giovanelli and Dario Cerati with Maurizio Fondi, a class created especially for GT4 car.
Good expectations for qualifying after the two hours of free practice on Friday; in Q1 Giovanelli ends in 6° place in class and Fondi in 7° place. Same position in Q2 for Ghezzi in 6° place in class and Cerati in 7° place.
Alessandro Giovanelli starts Race 1 on Saturday afternoon and gains immediately, before the 3° place in class and then the 2° place. For exploit the speed of Alessandro Giovanelli, team decides to wait the last minutes before doing the driver change. Beppe Ghezzi starts his race, but due to the safety car, he doesn’t find the feeling with the tires and loses position until the 6° place in class, 12° overall.
Regular race for Fondi and Cerati, despite a little touch from an opponent, end the race in 7° place in class and 14° overall.
For Race 2 the Team work to find the right balance of the cars. The awareness is that the Race 1 positions do not reflect the potentials of the two cars respect to Cayman and Ginetta and above all do not reflect the driver’s potentials.
Race 2 is a photocopy of race 1 but the Autorlando Sport drivers gain a position: Ghezzi-Giovanelli end in 5th place in class and Cerati-Fondi in 6th place.
Next appointment with Autorlando Sport is for Adria of Coppa Italia on 27/29 of October.
