Round2 of the GT4 European Series, of scene on the English circuit of Brands Hatch, where Autorlando-sport lines up the two 911 GT4 of Giuseppe Ghezzi and Manuele Mengozzi on #76 and Dario Cerati with Maurizio Fondi on #75, first and second of the general classification AM after the good performances of the Round1 of Misano.
Brands hatch its unknown racetrack for Autorlando’s drivers, so even more important are the free practice of Saturdays, to be ready for the qualification of Saturday evening.
Q1 for Ghezzi and Cerati, with the first that gathers the third position of class AM, accomplices the traffic and the procedure of the virtual Safety Car, position that will have then to leave a penalty inflicted him, while Cerati gets the fourth AM plaza. In Q2 of scene instead Mengozzi that with mastery gathers the pole-position of class AM while Fondi gained the 5th Am position.
Race1 in Sunday morning, Ghezzi starts and after the first turn is third of class AM, while Cerati is very good to remain out of the troubles and earns the 4th position. A little problem an the paddle shift brings Ghezzi last of the grid, but Beppe doesn’t discourage and thanks to a new Safety Car reaches the group, proper to the opening of the window of the changes.
#75 and #76 enter sfalsate of a turn, the operations regularly develop him and to the exit Mengozzi and Fondi maintain the positions. From here at the end of the competition is a to follow of accidents, new Safety Car, penalty, with Mengozzi that finds himself again second to few turns from the end overtaking the Maserati at the last curve and the fotofinish wins for 16 millesimal! Fondi completes the success of the Team with the third step of the platform.
Rce 2 on 76 starts Mengozzi and earn tenth on tenth staying leader of class AM while Fondi proceeds in the middle of the group fighting between the 4th and the 5th position but here the nth Safety Car that that cancel the gained time till the opening of the change of driver windows.
#75 and #76 enter together, the new regulation of the position of the car in the pit lane cause confusion and Ghezzi came back at 3rd position, while Cerati maintains the 5th position. Unfortunately, few turns later Cerati arrives long and he silts, and he is not able to finish the race.
In the meantime the car 76, with Ghezzi, takes advantage from penalties inflicted to other competitors and climb to the second place, very near to the Maserati; a red flag doesn’t allow him to catch the first position but into consideration to the point of the championship second position it’s a very good result.
The overall classification should see again Ghezzi and Mengozzi leader and Cerati and Fondi at the second place.
