PODIUM FOR GHEZZI-RIOLO IN THE SECOND ROUND OF THE GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES IN MISANO ADRIATICO.

Second round of the season for the GT4 European Series, on the Romagna circuit named after Marco Simoncelli of Misano Adriatico.

After the free practice sessions on Friday afternoon the drivers of Autorlando sport, Ghezzi and Riolo on the # 76 and Cerati – Fratti on the # 75, are ready for the qualifying on Saturday morning for Q1 and in the afternoon for Q2.

In Q1 on the # 75 starts Fratti which manages to stop the clock first on 1m44.460 then on 1m44.062. While on the # 76 starts Salvatore Riolo, who after a couple of laps to bring the tires up to temperature, immediately stop time on 1m43.968 and then improve with a 1m43.364. This time guarantees him the sixth place in the class standings.

In Q2 on the # 75 starts Cerati which on the fourth lap stops the time on 1m44s899 obtaining a seventh place in the AM class standings. On the # 76 it is Ghezzi’s moment who manages to get a sixth time in his class.

So we arrive on Saturday afternoon ready for Race 1 scheduled at 16.30.

Maurizio Fratti starts on # 75, he is good at keeping himself out of trouble in the first corners of the first lap, and manages to position himself on the pace of 1m46s. On the tenth lap, however, enter the regime of FCY, which is maintained for two laps before the SC enters to the track and compact the group. On the fifteenth lap he is called to the pits for the driver change. On lap 23, however, the FCY regime is again in force in the race and after two laps, the SC returns to regroup the group. Dario with his usual elegance and refinement that distinguish him at the restart allowed his teammate to resume his own pace undisturbed. At the end of the race, # 75 is in fourth place in the class! Totò starts on # 76 and manages to stay out of trouble at the first corners and immediately get on a constant pace of 1m45s. On the seventeenth lap, Totò returns to give the wheel to Giuseppe who resumes the race and brings his pace to 1m44s. This consistency and these times allowed # 76 to take second place in the class standing!!

All ready for Race 2 on Sunday at 09.45.

Race 2 begins with Dario Cerati lined up on the right side of the grid in seventh place in his class. After completing 15 laps he is called back to the pits for the driver change and the #75 car is entrusted to Maurizio who ends race 2 with a 7th place in the AM class.

Ghezzi starts on #76 and manages to stay out of trouble at the first corners and immediately get on a constant pace. This pace allows him to take 5th place on the third lap and 4th place on the ninth. Driver change and Totò gets on and immediately resumes the pace left by the excellent Giuseppe, thus maintaining the fourth position until the end of the race.

The next appointment with Autorlando Sport planned for the weekend of 6 September for the third round of the European GT4 championship on the Nurburgring circuit.
