Maurizio Fratti and Andrea Cabianca have not found the right feeling with the circuit of Imola and their Porsche 934 Jägermeister.
In qualifying, they are in the seventh position and during a troubled race they finish in the 6th position in class, position not enough to overcome the opponent with BMW who gains at Imola a 3rd position in class.
This is the end of an excellent 2016 Classic Endurance Racing Championship.
Cabianca: “Our goal was to stay ahead of the BMW of Muelder, and in the qualifying he was very strong so our disadvantage in the starting grid was evident, however, I started very well and during my stint I was in front of the BMW and in first position of Group 4, behind the 935. After the driver change, Maurizio at the Piratella it’s silted up. We queued to the safety car but we had lost however two laps and the BMW was impregnable”.
Fratti: “The intention was to repeat the result of 2015. We’ll try again in 2017”.
