Seventh round and the last two races for the Italian GT Championship on the circuit of Mugello, with seesawing weather typically of the season.

Bad weather already from the free practice on Friday morning for the two crews of Autorlando Sport, Camathias-Calamia and Romani-Deodati on Porsche 997 GT3 R. The drivers find immediately the right degree of sensitivity to the guide, especially for Camathias-Calamia that obtain the 5th fastest time.

Saturday morning the qualifying scheduled at 09.00 takes place under a lukewarm sun but the track isn’t completely dry. Calamia with the car number 24 and Deodati with car number 25 accuse some problems with driving on asphalt yet slimy and obtain respectively the 19th and 31th position for the start in Race 1.
During the second qualifying, the track is considerably improved and Camathias and Romani take advantage the grip of the track and obtaining the 8th and 17th position for the start in Race 2.

Saturday afternoon is scheduled Race 1 with a great comeback from the crews of Autorlando Sport, started from the rear. Calamia and then Camathias obtain a good 9th place after a recovery from the 19th position and with a impeccable pit stop by the team. Deodati and Romani lap after lap reach the 27th position, keeping under control the special standings “Coppa Pirelli”, only for gentlemen drivers.

Sunday at 12.10 start the last race of this championship for this 2015. On the car no. 24 starts Camathias from a good 8th position and obtaining good times and remaining attached to the head Group, leaves the steering wheel to Calamia in 7th position. Unfortunately, Calamia doesn’t find a good feeling with the Tuscan track and having trouble to keep a good pace, ends the race in 12th place overall.

For the all roman crew on car no. 25 of autorlando sport, is Romani that starts the race, fighting with the other crews for the competition of “Coppa Pirelli”, leaving then the steering wheel to Deodati that ends the race in 23th position and with a 3rd place overall for the “Coppa Pirelli”. A great satisfaction for the Roman duo, stand on the podium, in this last race of the Championship.

Here the comments from the drivers of Autorlando Sport at the end of this season:

Mauro Deodati: “As you know I’m a beginner (a true gentlemen) and I experienced this season as a dream, I thank your entire Team for the kindness, professionalism and availability, that in you is a custom. Highly professional Team that has accompanied me for the entire season and with the help of my partner Emanuele I “learned” how to pilot a 997 GT3 R always up in every situation. A beautiful and difficult championship where we got on the Pirelli podium three times, ranking at the end in 3rd place. Thanks to all of you! ”

Joel Camathias: “A positive weekend, given the competitivenness level of our Porsche with respect to the competition. We knew that the 911R could be at ease on this track, and it was so. In the first free practice, on wet track, we even were 5th-fastest. Unfortuntely, the rain stopped after that. In Race-1, we fought well, taking a final P9 which was very good news. In the second race, where I took the start and for which I had qualified ninth, I could hold the position in the top ten during my stint, then the fight got fiercer, but Mauro still managed to cross the line with the leading group. This nice and very tough championship is now over and I will have time to plan for 2016, but I am already anxious to be on the track again.”
