Last round of GT4 European Northern Cup, on the circuit of Nurburgring, for the series designed of SRO by Stefan Ratel.
An incredible end of season for Autorlando Sport with Ghezzi – Mengozzi that win both races in class AM and gaining the two first places of the European championship.
Porsche 911 GT4 #76 collects 5 victories in class AM and 3 podium placements during the season, starting from the race of Misano and passing by Brands Hatch, Red Bull Ring, Slovakia Ring, Zandvoort and ending on the circuit of Nurburgring.
An important contribution has been given by the twin Porsche 911 GT4 #7ù5 driving by the couple Cerati – Fondi who comes back home with a 6th place in class AM and with a rich experience at European level after an intense season.
Free practices on Friday a bit troubled maybe due to the tension for the grand final but already from the Q1 on Saturday, Ghezzi with Porsche #76 gains a 3rd place in class and Mengozzi the pole position always in class AM in Q2. Cerati with Porsche # 75 obtains a 8th place in class and Fondi a 7th place in Q2.
Ghezzi starts very well the race and with a neat and tidy driving delivers the car at the driver change in the second position in class thank to a good job by the Team. Mengozzi restarts the race placing immediately in first position in class AM. Thanks to this result, Autorlando Sport and Giuseppe Ghezzi win the GT4 European Northern Cup class AM. Toasts, smiles and photographs frame this amazing day, obtained thanks to work and dedication for all the season. Unfortunately, for Porsche 911 GT4 #75, after the first stint of Fondi, the car is forced to retire for a problem at the gearbox.
Goal for race 2 on Sunday is gaining points to move up Mengozzi in standing. Mengozzi starts the race and lap after lap gains and delivers the car #76 to Ghezzi in first place in class. Ghezzi ends and wins the race at the 1st place in class AM. At this point Mengozzi is in 2nd place in class AM standing. Porsche #75 ends the race in 12th position overall.
Cerati and Fondi end Race 2 in 7th position in class and in 6th place in GT4 European Northern Cup class AM. An important result for their first experience together in this international championship.
