Has been finished this weekend the 1st Special Rally Circuit by Vedovati Racing at Monza, better known as the temple of speed on the track. Thanks to the skill and competence of the organizers, the circuit has been able to accommodate the “rally world” for a two day full of technical contents with more than one hundred registered cars.
For Autorlando Sport with the Porsche 997 GT-R homologated FIA, Manuel Villa navigated by Piercarlo “Kapo” Capolongo, which take advantage the shakedown on Saturday to take confidence with the modified track with artificial variants along the way and made it even more complicated for the persistent bad weather.
Four special stages on Sunday: the PS1, Vedovati1, Villa-Capolongo defend themselves and skim the top ten, 11th, however behind the classy rivals Superti-Dell’Acqua with the other 997 R-GT.
The PS2, Special Vedovati1, everything seems to be going well but out of the “Parabolica”, before the “time control”, a tire yields force the crew to pay penalties. Also the other 997 have the same problem and they are forced to leave, situation to be check with the supplier of tires.
In PS3, the same as PS1, the track remains moist but the choice is for dry tires, Villa-Kapo defend and recover positions in the overall standings, with the 17th position in practice and 32° in the overall.
For the PS4, the same as the PS2, the additional headlights are mounted for a spectacular effect worthy of the many rallies that have made the history, Villa-Kapo are at their best and they close in the 8th place in the standing of test times, a result which consolidates the first position in R-GT class and the 27th position overall.
It remains the regret for the incident involving in PS2 without which the R-GT of Autorlando Sport would leave their mark on Monza, among the top 10, behind only to the WRC rally queens.
The next event for the team will be the weekend of December 4 with the Monza Rally Show.
