The 14th Rally Due Valli Historic, held in Verona and valid as the last round of the Italian Historic Rally Championship, ended on Saturday afternoon. At the start Autorlando-sport with the Porsche 911 SC with the classic white-yellow livery “Vezza” #113 driven by Maurizio Fratti and navigated by the expert Giovanni Frigerio for this occasion.
After the Friday night Special Stage in the center of the Scaligeri city where the crew struggles a little in the city toboggan closing 23rd, on Saturday at the start the real rally with a sequence of 8 non-stop Special Stages, Fratti and Frigerio find the harmony between them and with the car.
The results of the stages are getting good and closer to the first class crew, giving us hope for a good final result but, for security reasons, the P.S. 4 and 5 are deleted and transformed into simple transfers, which breaks the crew’s pace a little. At the resumption with P.S. 6 the commitment and concentration of Fratti and Frigerio are remarkable, they are getting closer to the Top-Ten but at the end of the rally they finish 11th overall, 4th in class of the 3rd group.
With a little regret the crew still celebrates the good result, positively evaluating the experience gained and the gradually growing harmony, which is the basis of any sporting result, even more so in a rally where the rider follows step I pass the notes of the navigator and the navigator trusts his driver blindly.
Next rallying events for Autorlando will be the 4th Special Rally Circuit Vedovati Corse in November and the Monza Rally Show in December, with their trials in the Brianza circuit, and this weekend we will be back on track for the end of the Italian GT4 Sprint Championship at Monza and for the Classic Endurance Racing at Paul Ricard.
