In the Aci Racing weekend ended in Monza this weekend, Alessandro Nervi (# 35) on the 911 GT4 managed by Autorlando-Sport has definitively mortgaged the SuperCUP title in the GT1 category. The driver from Bergamo at the top of the GT1 standings was about 30 points ahead of his direct opponent, Cagliani (# 42), also on Porsche (997 CUP) but the victory on Saturday and the second place on Sunday allowed him to close the speeches in the GT1 class; speech remains open only for the second position in the absolute standings.
The free practice sessions on Friday saw Alessandro gain confidence with the track on which he had only done two tests and bring the time closer to the two-minute wall. Wall that falls in qualifying where Alessandro takes a time of 1 ’59 “5 taking the fourth absolute position on the grid and the second class.
Race 1 on Saturday, scheduled for 4:05 pm, see a light rain wetting the asphalt strip, just enough to force the Race Direction to expose the “WET RACE” sign. Alessandro shoots very well from the fourth pitch and leads a sensible race without risks and taking home the first class position and the second absolute confirming the progress shown so far; worthy of note the battle had by the driver with a Seat Leon TCR in the early stages of the race that will see him protagonist and go out winner.
Race 2 snaps at 11:00 on Sunday morning with a shy sun, Alexander dispute the whole race in fourth position behind his direct opponent, Cagliani, but without being able to bring a decisive attack. Given the position in the race but especially the scenario of the standing would have been too hasty to take unnecessary risks, Alessandro has therefore preferred to take home important points that go to put a seal on his position in the standings.
Now for Nervi the celebrations for the first place in the GT1 class are only a formalities classification and have already started, but remains the last race to finally seal the second position in the overall standings. To sign the work of the team Autorlando-Sport that is ever on the top and able to give to a driver a car capable of fighting with other cars and not to suffer any mechanical failure.
Also worthy of note is the excellent performance of the De Ambroggi-Visdomini crew on the 997 CUP (# 40) run by Autorlando-Sport, which sees them in a second position in qualifying and with Visdomini closing race 1 in 16th position after departure from the pit lane while De Ambroggi on Sunday closes race 2 in second place overall and class.
