Great week-end that just ended at Imola for Giuseppe Ghezzi, that after the two podium obtained in the last race at Mugello, reconfirms himself leader in the two races of the Coppa Italia Championship 1° Division gaining the first position.
At the start of Race 1 Giuseppe Ghezzi takes advantage of an indecision and overtakes the driver of Ferrari 458 Invernizzi and he administers with skills the margin achieved in the last few laps, gaining the first place. In Race 2 the driver of Autorlando Sport is still the best at the start and still gains the first place.
Bitterness instead for the couple Cerati-Baruchelli that due to a technical problem couldn’t compete in the race of Autostoriche with Porsche 924 Turbo.
Wet Rally Legend this year and also unfortunate for the Team Autorlando Sport, with the legendary crew Kankkunen – Repo on Toyota Celica ST205.
On Friday, the first day, the weather was good, with four special stages at night and a very good feeling for the Finnish driver after two decades at the helm of the same Celica of New Zealand, holding off the fierce Lancia Delta.
The heavy rain on saturday has not worried the multiple world champion, in fact, keeps the championship lead, until the 7th special stage.
Unfortunately during the 8th special stage, “Piandavello”, later canceled, the Celica accused some glitches with the consequent decision by the crew to end the rally.
