Last appointment for the GT4 European Series on the French Circuit of Paul Ricard – Le Castellet; Autorlando-sport on track with the confirmed pairs after the good results of Spa-Francorchamps, Dario Cerati and Maurizio Fondi on car #75 and Giuseppe Ghezzi with Andreas Mayrl on car #76, with the two Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS MR.
Private practice on Thursday to give way to the drivers to know the track, long, challenging and with a few fixed points of reference due to the particular escape routes with colored abrasive asphalt.
Friday with the two classic free practice sessions but with the new of double qualifying at night, with the illuminated track: Q1 for Ghezzi in 4th place and Cerati in 6th place while in Q2 excellent 2nd place for Mayrl and 5th place for Fondi.
Double race on Saturday to make way for the 1000 Km of the GT World Challenge. At the start of race 1 Ghezzi is trapped and loses his position against the Turkish BMW remaining attacked throughout the stint proving to be faster but without ever being able to find the flicker in overtaking, also due to the obstructionism often at the limit of the Turkish . Good driver change and with a fast and steady pace Mayrl climbs up second closing the race on the podium. Regular Cerati and Fondi that close fifths.
Race 2 again at night, with Mayrl also surprised by the Turkish BMW at the start, fast stint, attached to the leaders, but it is at the driver change that the overtaking takes place with Ghezzi who resumes second place out of the pit, keeping it tenaciously up to the checkered flag with an excellent 8th place overall. Fondi and Cerati, with a regular race, finish 6th in class AM.
The final standing of the AM class sees Ghezzi close the European GT4 2020 Championship in 3 position while Dario Cerati is placed in 5 position.
In the Team Standing Autorlando Sport close in 5th position overall.The GT4 European Series greets and gives appointment to the 2021 season at the debut in Monza in April with Autorlando-sport already at work to confirm its presence.
For Autorlando instead the season continues with the next appointment scheduled for the next 3-6 December for the WRC Rally World Championship in Monza with the Porsche R-GT.
