Press release 29/2019 23.09.2019

Penultimate appointment for the prestigious Peterauto championship on the very fast Monza circuit of Monza, which has always been recognized as the temple of speed, with a series of categories that brought almost 300 cars to the track, from the 60s to almost the present day, symbolic cars of a motor racing Era that makes the heart beat still today. Autorlando as usual on the track with the Porsche 996 GT3 RSR my2005 (# 76) with Maurizio Fratti in the Endurance Racing Legends and the same Fratti with Andrea Cabianca with the Porsche 934 Turbo (# 53) in the Classic Endurance Racing 2.

In the E.R.L. the weekend could only have gone better with Fratti taking on, after free practice and qualifying, served to find the enamel of the best years, a prestigious victory in R1 on Saturday and a great second place in the second race on Sunday morning. These results take him to the top of the GT2b Class standings, also thanks to the correct class advancement of the Viper # 53, in fact a GT1 of the early 2000s. Now Fratti is 1st in standing before the last scheduled appointment at Le Castellet in October, inserted by the organizers at the last, an appointment that upset a bit the plans of pilots and teams. At this point Maurizio cannot miss if he wants to confirm the leadership!!!

In the C.E.R. 2 instead the morsel is bitter and everything seems to go wrong to the Team since the free practice interrupted after a few laps due to gearbox problems that are promptly resolved ably by the boys with a job that has lasted almost until late at night. In qualifying on Sunday morning still a heavy cold shower with the unexpected at the engine this time. Once again the boys perform a miracle succeeding in deploying the “Jagermeister” at the start of the race but, already from the lap of deployment, one senses that it is not really day, so Fratti, starter for the occasion, can only sadly return to pit-lane raising “white flag”. Fratti and Cabianca, now, are in 2° position in class.

We will fight again at Le Castellet…

Thanks again to the team for the work done very well, but unfortunately this time the misfortune hit half of the team making the end of the weekend as a glass half full. The next appointment for the team is now the first weekend of October with the Italian GT Championship at Mugello for the fourth and final round of the SPRINT series.
