Press release 10/2019 13.05.2018
This double appointment of this weekend of the Autorlando-Sport saw the team engaged in the Master Endurance Legend championship at Monza, and in the second stage of the Trofeo SuperCUP in Franciacorta, were surprises, emotions, joys and the inevitable rain that accompanies for a month this start of the team season.
On Friday, in Franciacorta, Visdomini proceeds great with the 997 GT3 CUP # 40, and Nervi, on board the Mitjet # 150, which carry out the free shifts reserved for them without problems. The weather has reserved an almost summer climate and on the almost 35 degrees of the track the two drivers have no problem expressing their talent and extracting the potential of their cars, they will close with excellent times, in line with what was recorded in the tests carried out previously on this track. Saturday in the qualifications, Visdomini will end with 1 ’13 “150, with a class pole, 5th overall confirming what was made clear in the free practice, while Nervi signed the second class, 17th overall among the almost 30 registered cars; really well done to Federico for his first ever race.
On Saturday afternoon the two “Races 1” are scheduled to see Visdomini finish 6th overall and take the podium for the 2nd in class, and Nervi who despite a spin at the start of the race closes 20th overall by taking a bronze for the 3rd classy place. A podium for both before the evening is conditioned by the storm that hit the racetrack, putting a strain on the organization and changing the paddock due to the strong wind that created some damage to the lighter structures like the gazebos. The second manches are scheduled in the morning with the Mitjet that takes sides at 09:30. The race is dry despite the fact that the track was wet during the night and Federico, spring loaded from Saturday’s result, closes 1st in class with a 14th place overall. For him, this is a fantastic result thanks to the commitment and conduct of a prudent and fast race. Visdomini takes to the track at 13:10 and his race is full of twists: after a contact with 991 # 41 he is sanctioned with a drive-through, he slides 4th but at 5 minutes from the end he takes advantage of a contact in front of he and second place absolute. A few meters from the finish he makes a mistake that brings him back 4th but the penalty imposed on car # 18 brings him back to the podium, finishing 3rd overall and 1st of class, making him smile again after the small mistake.
At Monza circuit, universally known like the temple of the speed, it took place the second round of the series Aston Martin Master Endurance Legends, a series that group the glories cars of the European Le Mans of the last decade and that supports the same ELMS.
Autorlando-sport lined up, not surprisingly, the 996 GT3 RSR my2005 with Maurizio Fratti, the # 76 winner of the European title in 2006 in the prestigious GT2 category with Joel Camathias and Marc Lieb. Free practice on Friday which allows Fratti to regain confidence with the car and track ending 1st in the G2 / GT2 class, 16th overall.
Single qualifying with green flag at 10.40 on Saturday, Fratti obtained the 17th absolute time, 2nd in GT2 class and 3 in G2 group. Race 1 in the afternoon, with uncertain whether despite the late spring. With a small downpour at the opening of the pit lane, the right choice however is that of the slick tires starting behind the safety car; in the course of the race, after the mandatory pit stop performed excellently, Fratti finds himself first in class, also thanks to a penalty imposed on the other Porsche on the track which, lap after lap, recovers and takes back the leadership. Maurizio closes 14th overall, 2 of class and 3rd of group.
On Sunday in the early morning start of race 2, a regular course with impeccable pit stops, with a similar result to race 1, 15th overall, 2nd in class and 3rd in group.
However positive balance for both Fratti and the Team in view of the next round of the twin series, Peter Auto’s ERL, on the Ardennes track of Spa-Francorchamps next weekend.
A surely positive balance for the team with all three drivers, Fratti, Visdomini, Nervi, a weekend without a hitch waiting for the next appointment, twice as much.
The team will in fact be involved in both the SPA for the CER championship with the 934 and the 996 RSR and in Misano for the Italian GT Endurance with the two 718 Caymans.
