Press release 13/2020 28.09.2020
Round 04 of the GT4 European Series, in Zandvoort, North Holland, on the circuit overlooking the North Sea.
Autorlando-sport is on track with the pair of Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS MR and brand new pairs of drivers; the experts Dario Cerati and Giuseppe Ghezzi see the debut with the white-blue colors of the British JM LIttman and Jacopo Baratto respectively on car # 75 and car # 76.
The private tests on Thursday and free practice on Friday allowed the crews to become familiar with the car and above all with the circuit, given the changing conditions in a sudden and unpredictable way, conditions that required numerous tire and set-up changes.
On Saturday the qualifying takes place completely on dry ground with Cerati finishing fifth in the AM class while Ghezzi hits a good second just off pole in Q1; Q2 for Littman and Baratto who finish 4th and 3rd respectively.
At the end of the day, Race 1 starts with a dry track and regular progress until the driver changes: Ghezzi gives the wheel to Baratto in fourth position while Littman takes over from Cerati in fifth. A few laps from the end of the Full Course Yellow regime with the Safety Car that reassembles the group making us hope for the best but the situation does not change until the checkered flag, inexplicably given a late lap with the classification then in any case correct. Fourth place for # 76 and fifth for # 75.
Sunday at lunchtime green light for Race 2, at the start Littman and Baratto which, fighting for second place, is touched by BMW # 13, right rear tire KO and unexpected return to the pits. At the restart, Baratto is sixth, the driver changes and Ghezzi gets on but the stability of the car is compromised, which leads to another stop; # 76 closes fifth. More regular race for # 75 with Cerati and LM Littman who close in 4th place.
In the general classification now Ghezzi and Cerati are respectively: Ghezzi still in 3rd position overall and Cerati in 5th with 2 round to go.
Next appointment for the GT4 European Series at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit with the all-day anticipated program to make room for the prestigious 24 hours of the GT World Challenge.
Autorlando sport thanks the sponsor: IPEST ISKY FLORIO REFRANCORE OMCN OMP FAS PAKELO and Ravetto group to have supported the program.
Jacopo Baratto
A tough weekend on all aspects, starting with the weather that didn’t help, constantly changing
Free practice set up of Cayman was very good on any type of conditions dry and wet, we were good pace and competitive
Qualifying 1 very well Ghezzi, I made a mistake in mine and this was a shame I would have liked to see where we could reach, in any case I was 8 overall and third in the category
In race 2 we could have finished in p3 and perhaps even better when I was hit by the Bmw which compromised the race, I must say race 2 in general too much conditioned by race contacts.
Too bad because there was growing potential that we had to pick up in race 2 but like that but we were denied
JM LITTMAN
It was a great pleasure to race with Autorlando and particularly to
share the car with Dario Cerati. A great team spirit. Though it was a disappointing not to achieve the target of the podium for this weekend.
Giuseppe Ghezzi:
I am very satisfied with my performance on the car in all weather conditions, a difficult weekend unfortunately compromised by a car in our same category.
Dario Cerati:
I was happy with my performance really hope to improve during Spa race because Francorchamps it is a track that I know very well.
