Gruppo Peroni Race Championship starts this weekend on the Mugello Circuit with Coppa Italia together with the 3H Endurance.
The Bossini “trio”, Giacomo with the sons Paolo and Matteo, confirmed also this year their presence in the 3H Endurance on Porsche 997 GT3 R.
Free practices on Friday to get the winter rust off, followed by the qualifying on Saturday morning with Paolo who obtains a good second place behind only to prototype and BMW Z4 of Turkish team.
Matteo starts the race on Saturday at 14.35 but was not a good start due to a collision at San Donato with a BMW. Even if BMW took a drive through penalty Autorlando sport Porsche was obliged to pit compromising the final top results.
The Porsche GT3 R n. 4 was clearly bad damaged at the front, Team due to their experience succeed in repairing as better as possible the car in order to allow the drivers to continue the race even if the car at this point was with a compromised set up.
Matteo can end his stint leaving the car to his father Giacomo who at more than an hour from the end gave the car to Paolo.
Paolo managed very well the damaged Porsche GT3 R and lap after lap improve his position in the raking but he is forced to stop at the box to repair the car. Despite all, Matteo, Giacomo and Paolo Bossini are able to place in 4th position in GT3 Class, 5th in the Gold Group and 6th in the overall standing.
An applaud to the Team at the box and above all to the drivers that despite all the problem were be able to end the race of this first appointment.
As regards the Coppa Italia team and driver Luciano were expected to fight against 5/6 car in the class GT3. Unfortunately our Porsche 997 GT3 R has had to confront with a Renault, car “temporarily accepted in the International GT Open championship” but that cannot be considered at all a GT3 car class.
Luciano had to settle for a second place for the entire weekend, starting from the free practices on Friday ending to the two races on Sunday.
Next round of Gruppo Peroni Race on the circuit of Franciacorta on the 30th of April.
